My Village (Làng Tôi): The countryside in Northern Vietnam

My Village (Lang Toi) depicts a serene northern countryside where mornings start with the crowing of a rooster and children play with bamboo sticks as their parents toil in the fields. Farmers enjoy pipe tobacco using bamboo hookahs, pausing in the shade of trees to escape the intensity of the summer afternoon sun. In the darkness, couples gather on bamboo bridges beneath the glow of countless stars. The Vietnamese Bamboo Circus showcases bamboo as the essence of the performance, guiding the narrative, shaping and transforming the scenes, and uniting twenty circus artists and musicians through the vibrant melodies of traditional instruments.

Many audiences who attend the show “My Village” discover a connection to these stories, reflecting on the years of children maturing in a tranquil, small village, immersed in rural life surrounded by banyan trees and bamboo. The creators of the program have conveyed the unique art of storytelling in a remarkably engaging and delightful manner.
