After breakfast, you’ll begin exploring the key tourist destinations of Vientiane. Visit Wat Sisaket, known for its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which once housed the Emerald Buddha. On the way to the sacred That Luang Stupa, stop to take photos of the imposing Patuxay Monument, Vientiane’s version of the Arc de Triomphe.

In the afternoon, you will take a short flight to Xieng Khouang. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel in Phonsavan (the capital of Xieng Khouang) and relax.

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll visit a local market and then drive to the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site with hundreds of large stone jars scattered across the plateau.
In the afternoon, you’ll explore the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and visit nearby villages inhabited by the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people, known for their rich culture and colorful history.
Later, you’ll visit Xieng Khouang Provincial Museum before staying overnight in Phonsavan.

Early in the morning, you’ll visit Phonsavanh’s Central Market to observe various hill tribes bartering and trading goods.
Then, you will journey to Luang Prabang, approximately 300 kilometers away. En route, you’ll stop at Thampra to see Buddha images over 200 years old and pass through Hmong and other hill tribe villages. Luang Prabang, with its serene natural scenery and rich cultural heritage, is one of Laos’ most charming destinations. After checking into your hotel, you’ll enjoy a restful overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

Today, you will visit the National Museum, Wat Visoun with its impressive stupa, and the shrine of Wat Mai. Next, explore Wat Xieng Thong before climbing Phousi Mount for a closer look at the sacred gilded stupa and to enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River.
Afterward, wander through the Night Market, which features a lovely collection of handmade textiles crafted by local and hill tribe people from the surrounding areas.

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll drive to Ban Ann to visit the elephant camp. Along the way, stop at Ban Phom Nom, a village renowned for its weavers who historically crafted souvenirs for the last king of Laos. Another stop is at the Henri Mouhot monument in Kang Noon. Mouhot, a French explorer who discovered Angkor Wat, died here from malaria.
Upon arrival at the camp, your guide will brief you about the elephants, followed by a 30-minute elephant ride.
Afterward, you’ll return to town and transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast, visit Phosi Market, then drive 30 kilometers out of town to the picturesque Kuang Si Falls. Here, you can swim, relax, or take a gentle trek to the top of the falls. On the way back, make a brief stop at a Black Hmong village, where hill tribe members sell handmade handicrafts.
The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your leisure before staying overnight.

After breakfast, you’ll drive for about three hours to Nong Khiaw, with a brief stop at the Pak Mong junction.
Upon arriving in Nong Khiaw, check into your bungalow and take a short break.
Then, enjoy a boat trip upstream along the Ou River for nearly 1.5 hours to the old town of Muang Ngoy, known as “Bombing Town” during the Indochina War. Explore the village and observe local life.
In the late afternoon, return to Nong Khiaw by boat for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic downstream cruise on the Ou River to the Mekong River, offering beautiful views of the tranquil countryside. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Pakse in southern Laos. Upon arrival at Pakse Airport, you’ll travel to Tadlo, passing charming villages and rolling hills. The contrast between the lush green vegetation and the red basaltic soil is striking. You’ll visit tea and coffee plantations and the picturesque twin Tad Fan Waterfall.
Next, explore Ban Bong Neua, an Alak village with a sacrificial altar. Arriving at Tadlo Waterfall in the afternoon, you can stroll, swim, or watch elephants bathe, and enjoy the sunset with a Lao beer. You also have the option of a short elephant ride to take in the scenery.

A scenic drive will take you to Champasak, the gateway to the pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Phou. This hillside sanctuary, once a significant site of the Khmer Empire, offers fascinating ruins to explore. Walking from the lower to the upper sections, you’ll see iconic forms of Vishnu, Shiva, and Kala, and enjoy spectacular views of the valley and Mekong River.
Visit Wat Phou Museum and Oum Moung Temple before heading to the 4,000 Islands. A boat ride from the central market brings you to Don Khone Island just in time for sunset over the Mekong.
