Overnight in Hanoi.
Take a full-day city tour that begins with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This well-known destination includes the mausoleum of the nation’s founder, Ho Chi Minh. Visit the Presidential Palace then Ho Chi Minh Museum. Admire the One Pillar Pagoda which was built at the same time. After that, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Here you will enjoy the beautiful views while strolling along the river. The boat passes among rice paddies and ranges of Limestone Mountains cresting up towers above you.
Enjoy lunch at a riverside restaurant. Take a short drive through the peaceful countryside to Hoa Lu. This is Vietnam’s former capital from 11 centuries ago. Visit the temples which dedicated to King Le and King Dinh. They are the capital’s founders in the 10th century.
Return to Hanoi for dinner. Take the night train to Lao Cai, which departs at 21:15.
The Fansipan is Vietnam’s highest mountain. It lends an alpine feel to the area surrounding this hill station. Today you will visit the bustling SaPa Market. Here there are many ethnic minorities such as the Red Dao, Tay, Black Hmong and Xa Pho. They come from nearby mountainsides and valleys to trade goods and buy provisions.
Explore this stunning mountain region on foot. You will pass through several rustic villages. You can see locals in their daily lives: logging, herding buffalo, and tilling the fields. The combination of a verdant mountain scenery and colorful population creates an unimaginable scene.
Overnight in Sa Pa.
Leave Sa Pa for a scenic drive through the northern city of Lao Cai to the vibrant Sunday Market Bac Ha. This market also draws a diverse range of ethnic minority groups, including the La Chi, Hmong, Phu La, Dao, and Tay.
Local people maintain their old cultural traditions and can be distinguished by their clothing. This congregation’s experience is colorful and one-of-a-kind. Then take a walk around the area. You can stop at the former residence of the Hmong Kings and Ban Pho. This is where the villagers make the potent local maize alcohol.
Overnight in Bac Ha.
The journey back to Hanoi begins as leaving Bac Ha Town. You will travel through the verdant and rugged mountain views. This is an excellent way to discover the real Vietnam.
You will then be dropped off at the railway station to catch the night train back to Hanoi. Visit Coc Ly Tuesday Market, Can Cau Saturday market is an optional choice.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Embark on a fascinating journey through the rich farming land of the Red River Delta to the Perfume Pagoda. This destination consists of many shrines and sanctuaries built into the mountainside. This well-known pagoda complex is also a popular tourist attraction in Vietnam.
Take a leisurely boat ride down the Yen River. You will pass through the breathtaking scenery of flooded paddy fields as well as undulating mountains. After a two-hour river trip, you begin a strenuous ascent to discover some of the many pagodas. Visit the sacred grotto of Huong Tich.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Leave the city and travel by road to Halong Bay. This is one of Vietnam’s most remarkable scenic sights. On arrival, you will board a boat for a memorable trip around the Bay. You will be able to explore the idyllic scenery combined with the sky and over 3,000 limestone islands rising spectacularly from the clear and emerald water.
Beaches, magnificent caves, grottoes and limestone karst formations make this place look like a fairy tail. Stop along the way for a relaxing swim in a secluded cove. You can visit some hidden grottoes underneath the towering cliffs. Continue your exciting cruise. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board. You will also have time for another swim after lunch.
Overnight in Halong.
Today you will have time to observe the rural landscape. You will visit the riverside village of Bat Trang, where unique ceramics have been made and used for more than 500 years across the delta region. The thousands of pottery kilns on fire day and night continue to fuel the vitality of this village. Walk around various family businesses, watching craftsmen form, paint, and glaze their products in traditional methods. The rest of the day is free time to discover the older quarters of Hanoi or relax.
