Today you will dive deeper into Phang Nga Bay. Ban Samchong’s proximity to the bay means you’ll be perfectly prepared to explore the dramatic limestone karsts before the crowds arrive from Phuket. You’ll enjoy a leisurely cruise aboard a private long-tail boat that explores around the bay’s 42 vertical islands.
The first stops on the journey will be Khao Phing Kan and neighboring Khao Ta Poo, which are needle-shaped rock formations with towering heights. They were inspired by the couple who starred in the 1974 James Bond movie. It means “The Man with the Golden Gun” and since then the place is also known as “James Bond Island“. You enjoy lunch at the “floating” islet community of Pan-Yee, where houses on stilts are located on the shallow sea.
