If you want to get away from the noisy city center and be in harmony with nature, the Southern Thailand 5 days tour will be a great idea. You will admire the beautiful islands and emerald waters of Phang Nga Bay. You’ll kayak through lush forest, relax on pristine beaches and eat authentic Thai food with a local family at your homestay in a small fishing village.
To start your Southern Thailand 5 days tour, the guide will greet you at Phuket airport and escort you to your jungle lodge. After completing the check-in procedure in your bungalow, you will have many options for activities in the afternoon. You can take advantage of the hotel’s prime location to relax in a hammock in the afternoon, or you can rent a bicycle from the hostel to explore this land.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at the restaurant featuring authentic Southern Thai cuisine and local organic seafood.
Day 2 of the Southern Thailand 5 days tour starts with breakfast served at the bungalow. After that, get ready to explore your jungle surroundings. First, you’ll experience walking nature trails with your guide, where you’ll explore winding creeks and spot wildlife in the lush forest. You will then move to the famous Sarasin viewpoint on the Sarasin Bridge, which connects Phuket to the mainland. This move will take about 20 minutes to drive, but it will definitely be an interesting time as you can see everything on the road. Going further west, you will gaze out over the endless Andaman Sea, enjoying the beauty of Phang Nga Bay to the east. Your guide will take you back to Jungle Lodge to enjoy a freshly cooked lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll be able to kayak down the river through mangroves – tropical coastal plants that help protect the sensitive ecology of fishing villages. Alternatively, you can use the afternoon time to relax after your morning adventure. Dinner will be served at Jungle Lodge.
You’ll wake up before sunrise and after breakfast, you’ll join your guide to the small Muslim fishing village of Ban Samchong. The village is located on the edge of Phang Nga Bay, which overlooks the picturesque islands. This trip will be your chance to experience life like a local. You will be accompanied by a fisherman on his daily rounds in a traditional long-tail boat. Swim in the pristine waters of Phang Nga Bay and relax on a secluded islet while waiting to collect your own catch of the day.
Lunch will be prepared with the spoils of your morning’s work. After the cruise, we will bring the freshly caught fish back to the village, where a local restaurant will cook it for you. The 3rd day close with an overnight stay at a local house in the evening, where you will have a home-cooked meal with your host family. Be prepared to slow down and appreciate the simplicity of a traditional Thai home, complete with sleeping mats, mosquito nets, and bucket showers. This is an ideal experience for those who love to see the real thing and want to get a true understanding of the people and culture of rural southern Thailand. This experience is one of the activities chosen by tourists to participate in the tour of Southern Thailand 5 days.
Today you will dive deeper into Phang Nga Bay. Ban Samchong’s proximity to the bay means you’ll be perfectly prepared to explore the dramatic limestone karsts before the crowds arrive from Phuket. You’ll enjoy a leisurely cruise aboard a private long-tail boat that explores around the bay’s 42 vertical islands.
The first stops on the journey will be Khao Phing Kan and neighboring Khao Ta Poo, which are needle-shaped rock formations with towering heights. They were inspired by the couple who starred in the 1974 James Bond movie. It means “The Man with the Golden Gun” and since then the place is also known as “James Bond Island“. You enjoy lunch at the “floating” islet community of Pan-Yee, where houses on stilts are located on the shallow sea.
After lunch, you can spend the afternoon snorkeling among the coral reefs and exploring the archipelago’s collapsed cave system. If you are adventurous, you can even go deep inside to discover ancient paintings on the cave walls. After returning from the boat trip, you’ll head to Khao Lak Beach on the west coast of Phang Nga for dinner and overnight. The 4th day of Southern Thailand tour closed well.
Spend the last morning relaxing in Phang Nga. Khao Lak’s beautiful white sand beaches are quiet and secluded from Phuket’s busier beaches. Stroll along the coast with a jungle-covered mountain as the backdrop. If you have time, don’t miss reserving a message at the spa or taking a cooking class in the Khao Lak area.
The driver and guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the airport according to your schedule. End of 5 days in Southern Thailand with a safe flight and many memorable experiences.
