Explore Ancient Villages In Northern Thailand For 5 Days

Welcome to Northern Thailand. After your flight lands in Chiang Mai, the driver will pick you up at Airport and take you to your hotel to meet your fellow travelers. Once you have completed check-in, we’ll head out for a local lunch with traditional khao soi, a famous curry rice dish. The Northern Thailand tour will start after lunch, the car will take you to Doi Pui Mountain to start your first hike. This is an easy hike with undulating terrain along a mountainside covered with pine trees and wild lilies. During the journey, you will stop at a local coffee shop in a Hmong village and sip a cup of locally-flavored coffee.

Then walking downhill, you’ll have a chance to see the ruins of an 800-year-old temple and the group will end the hike at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

Dinner will be your own time. Feel free to explore the night market and its many delicious food stalls, or one of the lively restaurants within a few minutes’ walk of your hotel.

The 2nd of Northern Thailand tour starts with a leisurely four-hour drive to the stunning Inthanon National Park. Located here is the highest peak in Thailand, Doi Inthanon, as well as countless waterfalls and famous ethnic villages. After visiting the famous sites around the park, you will hike down the rushing waterfall and enjoy a peaceful lunch that has been prepared. Then we continue walking for about 2.5 hours to your remote-in in the park.

You have to wake up very early to start today’s hike along the river to the tribal village of Pamon Hills. This is one of the beautiful trails that pass through many waterfalls and pools in the Pamon area, where you’ll have plenty of time to swim or wade. After lunch, you continue the trip to visit the locals in the old village. Pamon village is made up of three great Karen families, most of whom are Catholic. Because of the above unique factors, you will also notice distinct differences in their food, clothing, and language. The 3rd day of the Northern Thailand tour closes with a hearty dinner and you will overnight at a local homestay.

The next day will begin after having breakfast at the homestay, you will bid farewell to the gracious hosts before continuing the journey along the river. We will pass endless waterfalls, pine forests, and rolling hills for a few hours before reaching the end of the forest in the afternoon. From here, you’ll drive an hour to Ban Kat village, where you’ll spend all night in a traditional Thai country house. You will be served a hearty meal by the host and enjoy Northern Thai dishes. In addition, you can also buy a variety of antiques from both Thailand and Myanmar as gifts for family and friends.

After having breakfast at the homestay, you will move to Chiang Mai. On route, we stop to explore Ban Tawai. This is a small wood carving village known worldwide for its quality furniture and woodworking. After leaving Ban Tawai, you’ll head straight into town and stop at Santitham Breakfast for a relaxing local lunch. Here, you will be able to try traditional dishes from Eastern Thailand with cuisines of the north created by the restaurant’s famous chef, Gong. Afterward, indulge in a therapeutic foot massage, a treat worthy of your hiking days.
