The 2nd day in Chiang Mai 7 days tour starts with an aquatic adventure in the beautiful Si Lanna National Park after traveling around 1.5 hours to the north of Mae Ngat Dam. Head to a peaceful mountain-backed reservoir and spend a few hours kayaking from the dam until you reach a collection of houseboats, restaurants, and overwater caves. In the afternoon, return to the dam in a traditional Thai long-tail boat before a half-hour drive along scenic mountain passes to Bua Tong Waterfalls. These waterfalls are famously nicknamed “sticky waterfalls” because of calcified mountains, which become sticky due to running water, making them easy to climb. Children can act as “spider-man” as they climb the falls while you climb the adjacent path, or take off their shoes and have fun.
Gather the kids this morning and pack a picnic and snacks to begin a 1-hour private transfer west to Mae Wang District. Don’t forget to put on your hiking boots as you follow the trail down the northern side of Thailand’s highest mountain, Doi Inthanon. You’ll reach the first of many waterfalls in the area in less than an hour. It’s a great place to have lunch and play with the kids. After lunch, you can cool off in the small pool under the gentle falls and then continue your hike, past a small village, to another two-tiered waterfall, where you can relax and swim before the next part of your hike.
The northern slopes are home to the hill tribe of the Karen people of Thailand. Here, you will also see people with distinct differences in their food, clothing, and language. Spend time learning about the Karen culture and way of life as you observe local village life and enjoy spectacular views across the valley. Then, return to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon for resting.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and ready to start a journey to the southwestern outskirts of Chiang Mai for a gentle bike ride. Kids will love the freedom to explore on two wheels as they pedal alongside roads of the river and through the rice paddies.
Stop for a bite to have lunch and continue to Baan Tawai, known for its intricate wooden carvings and handcrafted furniture. Check out the village’s extensive craft market as you and the kids browse the stalls, full of authentic pieces and a visual feast for the eyes.

This morning, spend the day hanging out with Thailand’s beloved national animal, the elephant.
