Have breakfast at the hotel before visiting the remote temples of Siem Reap. The first stop is Ta Prohm temple. The 12th-century Buddhist temple was abandoned and gave way to lush vegetation. You embark on a cycling adventure to the temple of Banteay Srey (Citadel of Women) dedicated to Shiva, with its pink sandstone architecture and sculptures representing a masterpiece of Khmer art. Take a break for lunch before your afternoon journey.

Next, visit the Chau Srey Vibol temple, located on the top of a hill. This tour will guide you off the beaten track and discover this authentic temple less frequented by other tourists. Your day ends with assistance to watch the sunset over Angkor Wat and Phnom Kulen from Phnom Bok.

After breakfast at the hotel, start cycling through small rural villages on the outskirts of Siem Reap towards Bakong Temple. Arriving in Bakong, you will begin your journey to explore the temple, before continuing to visit Prasat Preah Ko Temple (Sacred Cow Temple). After crossing the RN6, you will finally visit the temple of Lolei. These temples are part of the Roluos group, built in the 9th century when the first capital of Angkor (Hariharalaya) was founded. From the main entrance of Bakong, the road continues to Psar Bakong in the commune of Meanchey.

Prasat Preah Ko Temple

Continue to the floating village of Kompong Khleang, located about 50 km from Siem Reap, following the road through typical Cambodian landscapes. The opportunity to observe Cambodian rural life takes place on the water flowing through the rice paddies. Then, you will be transferred by car to the temple of Beng Mealea which is still in a wild state and strangled by the jungle and which makes the visitor feel like the first explorer. Beng Mealea is ranked among the greatest temples of the Khmer Empire.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit Angkor Thom. Visit the South Gate, the famous Bayon of the 12th & 13th centuries, dedicated to Buddhism, composed of 54 huge towers with 216 faces of Avalokiteśvara, the Baphuon (11th century) dedicated to Brahmanism, the pyramidal temple representing Mount Meru – the terrace of elephants, 350 m long, amply hosted royal audiences and public ceremonies; the terrace of the Leper King – a 12th-century platform, presents admirable sculptural figures of apsaras; and Phimean Akas (Heavenly Palace) – a three-step pyramid.

Lunch at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit Angkor Wat, a World Heritage site with soaring spires and extraordinary reliefs. It is one of the most extraordinary monuments ever devised by the human mind, erected in the 12th century (1112-1152) in honor of Vishnu.
