Afterward, don’t forget to try the famous crab omelet at Jay Fai, the first street food stall in Bangkok to be awarded a Michelin star, then visit the bustling Khao San Street for enjoying a cool drink after the meal.
In the evening, you can choose a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River and visit Bangkok’s historic landmarks. In the evening, you should definitely head to Chinatown, a favorite spot for foodies, where you can sample local dishes and exotic Thai drinks. You’ll try hawker stalls selling fried insects like scorpions and bamboo worms, noodle soup, pad thai, fried noodles, som tam (papaya salad), grilled chicken or boiled pork, and raw prawns with lemon. Tonight, you will be having the famous Khantoke Dinner. Khantoke is a delicious northern Thai dish, named after the wooden pedestal or rattan tray that Thai people serve. The menu usually includes dishes like gaeng hang lay (pork curry), nam prik beng (minced pork cooked with minced garlic, onions, and red peppers), cab moo (deep-fried pork skin), deep-fried chicken, and bananas. While having dinner, you can enjoy a special show played by a traditional northern band, or you can also join the dancers to perform a fun Ramwong dance.

This is a favorite activity in the Chiang Mai tour program when you’ll have a chance to meet elephants living in an ecological elephant care project. This project is carried out by a local family in Meung Kud village with the aim of improving the health of these gentle giants and raising people’s awareness about protecting elephants. You’ll have the opportunity to interact closely as well as understand their life. At the end of the morning, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Late afternoon, your driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the cooking class. You will stop by the local market to buy fresh ingredients used for the lesson. Then proceed to Baan Hong Nual, an open kitchen in Lanna Thai style, where your class will take place. You will first be guided through the selection of ingredients before learning to cook at Rungfah Organic Farm, followed by some important techniques, including how to cook rice in a bamboo tube. Once you’ve finished your creations, you’ll enjoy the picturesque surroundings of Khao Sok National Park.
In the afternoon, the tour continues with the discovery of nature and wildlife in the dense forests along the Khao Sok River by bamboo raft, one of the oldest forms of transportation in Thailand. If you love trekking, you will be able to hike through the forest and rubber tree plantation to reach a cave. You’ll learn how to boil water in a bamboo stem over an open fire to make a traditional cup of tea or coffee, as the people who once traveled on this ancient trade route did.
