Join us for an unforgettable 5 days in Laos, starting with a warm welcome to Luang Prabang! Upon arrival at the airport, our tour guide will personally escort you to your hotel for check-in. Please note that the hotel’s check-in time is 14:00 PM, and early check-in can be arranged at an additional cost.
After a brief rest, we will embark on our first tour in Luang Prabang, visit the impressive Royal Palace Museum and the stunning Wat Mai temple known for its exquisite golden bas-relief. If time allows, we will also take a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of the city center and observe the daily life of the locals.
In the late afternoon, we will ascend to the peak of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred gilded stupa and take in the breathtaking sunset view of the city and Mekong River. Later, we will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring traditional dance and folk music, providing an excellent opportunity to immerse in the local culture.
Our final destination for the day is the Night Market, where you can browse an array of handmade textiles created by local and hill tribe artisans in the vicinity of Luang Prabang. After the tour, return to the hotel and unwind, ready for the next adventure in Laos!
Rise early on your 5 days in Laos and participate in the country’s most sacred tradition – the daily morning alms giving, dating back to the 14th century. Over 200 Buddhist monks from various temples depart to receive their daily meal from devoted residents sitting quietly on the streets.
Next, we will explore the temporary morning market located near the former Royal Palace, where locals come to trade their day’s fresh catch, including rice, vegetables, fish, and chicken. This is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the local way of life.
After that, we will begin today’s tour with a visit to Wat Sene, the oldest temple in the city. Then, we will embark on a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River, offering a stunning view of the serene countryside. The cruise will take us to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, a 16th-century cave monastery containing thousands of Buddha images. The caves are located 25 kilometers north of Luang Prabang, in limestone cliffs overlooking the Mekong River. En route, stop at Ban Muang Keo, a renowned village known for traditional Lao rice whisky distilling.
On the way back to Luang Prabang, we will visit the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong Temple, an excellent example of Laos temple architecture, featuring a grand two-tiered roof and intricate mosaics, including a stunning glass montage of the ‘tree of life’ on the rear temple wall. Our last stop today is the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center (closed on Mondays), which offers insight into Laos’ diverse ethnic cultures.
Our Laos tour today will bring you to the magnificent Kuang Si waterfalls, the biggest in the Luang Prabang region. The falls have three tiers, and the water falls into crystal-clear blue pools before streaming downstream. These pools are ideal for swimming and are well-loved by both locals and visitors. Along with this, we will visit the Bear Rescue Center, which saves animals from poachers and traffickers.
While returning to Luang Prabang, we will stop by the Kuang Si Falls Butterfly Park, which researches and publishes information on Laos’s butterflies, host plants, and preservation. We will then head to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where local weavers, spinners, and batik makers create top-quality fabrics. This beautifully designed workshop, located close to the Mekong, offers free tours every half-hour, and you can witness the weaving process and purchase handmade souvenirs.
Following the tour, we will head to the airport and take a quick flight to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. Upon arrival, a driver will greet and accompany you to your hotel. You will have the remainder of the day to rest and explore at your own pace.
Embark on a full-day tour in Vientiane on your 5 days in Laos trip, we will make our way to Wat Si Muang, a temple renowned for its mystical power. We will then head to Buddha Park, a captivating collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures situated on the banks of the Mekong River near the Friendship Bridge. The park boasts roughly 200 religious statues, which date back 500 years and were created by a mysterious monk who spread his philosophy on life and shared his thoughts about the universe.
After lunch, we will tour the significant landmarks of the capital city, including the oldest temple, Wat Sisaket, which features thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple, Wat Prakeo, which once housed the famed Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to That Luang Stupa, Laos’ national symbol, we will stop to take photographs of the impressive Patuxay Monument, which is commonly known as Vientiane’s Arc de Triumph.
Upon completion of the tour, we will return to the hotel for relaxation.
Thank you for choosing our 5 days in Laos tour. Enjoy breakfast at hotel and take advantage of your free time to explore Vientiane until the driver arrives at the lobby to transport you to the airport for your departing flight. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Can I visit Laos and onwards travel to Vietnam? Is it a wonderful idea?
Idctravel
@Riley Gillbee: Of course, you can spend 5 days in Laos, followed by several more days in Vietnam. There are direct flights between two countries, taking you only 1.5 hours to reach Vietnam from Laos.
