Highlights

  • A long-tail boat trip through the canals is the perfect introduction to Bangkok. Follow it up with a visit to Wat Pho, where the large Reclining Buddha will wow you and your family holiday.
  • Activities in Chiang Mai are both fun and educational. You’ll be walking with rescued elephants through the sacred foothills of Chiang Dao, and learning about natural medicines.
  • Enjoy beautiful beaches, resorts, and islands, from Phuket to Ao Nang Krabi to Ko Samet in the north.

Tips

  • Eat with a spoon – the main kitchen utensil in Thailand. Most dishes are served with both a fork and a spoon, but the fork is used to push food onto the spoon only.
  • Use the Grab app for everything from hiring taxis and tuk-tuks to ordering food. Download the app before arriving in the country to save time.
  • Don’t buy Buddha images. Buddha statues are everywhere in Thailand but it is actually illegal to take a Buddha image out of the country.
  • Toilet paper is scarce. Many places in rural areas of Thailand may not have toilet paper available. So, bring your own toilet paper with you for your family trip to Thailand.

How to Plan a Perfect Thailand Family Holidays

Thailand, the Land of Smiles, is a very easy country to visit with kids. Indeed, infrastructure, hotels, and transport are at a good level. This makes it a very pleasant place to spend time with children and babies, even if the equipment is not always suitable.

In Southeast Asia, you will find a culture very different from yours, with a certain change of scenery, beautiful natural landscapes for beautiful hikes, and dream beaches close to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Kanchanaburi. Going through the reserve and reaching the Southern Isles of the Land of Smiles is enough to collect experiences of all kinds with one trip.

When to Go on a Family Vacation in Thailand?

  • You can visit Thailand with kids all year round, with the summer witnessing a bit higher level of rainfall. The best time for Thailand family holidays is in winter and spring, from December to the end of March
  • Time difference: 6h – 7h depending on each season

How Long to Spend in Thailand

The length of your stay will vary greatly depending on the regions and areas you visit. However, make your trip for at least 2 weeks to help prevent jet lag; 3 – 4 weeks will be best.

  • 1 week: Stay in Bangkok with a trip to Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, and a small beach.
  • 2 weeks: 1st week around Bangkok, 2nd week on the dream beaches of southern Thailand or the northern part of the Golden Triangle.
  • 3 weeks: You will be able to see most of the country at a brisk pace. You can spend 3 weeks seeing mainland Thailand without hitting the southern beaches if you prefer a leisurely pace.

Our 12 in Vietnam was an enchanting odyssey filled with love, discovery, and unforgettable moments. From the bustling streets of Saigon to the serene beauty of Halong Bay, every day brought new adventures and cherished memories. Your attention to detail and thoughtful arrangements of the honeymoon package enhanced our experience. It struck the perfect balance between cultural immersion, relaxation, and romantic moments. We left Vietnam with our hearts full of love and gratitude, knowing that this was a honeymoon to remember for a lifetime. Once again, thank you so much!

It was a lot of fun to visit both countries! I wish i had more time to spend, but the itinerary IDC provided did ensure me the best experience in both Thai and Cambodia in such a short time. Food and accommodations were all amazing, especially at Phuket. Thank you Alex for the great help!

Food lover paradise!!

As a spicy lover i was so excited to try out Thai cuisine for the first time! Amazing flavors really, we were advised to spend time in local markets and sample various street foods, and it did not disappoint. One of my kids cant eat spicy food but she loves Thai desserts, i'd say there is something for everyone here. Love that IDC Travel included a Thai cooking class in the tour as well, being able to understand the ingredients and recipes behind the flavor we eat was a lot of fun to me. Of course the hotels and service are great too, much love to the IDC team for planning this trip for me!! :D

My friend and I are foodie travelers, so we decided to book this tour with the desire to explore the Southeast Asia culinary scene, and this tour was absolutely beyond our expectations. Both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine are great, from their look to flavor. In each destination, we tried some food, and all of them were so excellent that they awakened our taste buds. Thank you IDC Travel for guiding us to the popular food spots and supporting us during our trip! Would definitely use their service in the future!!!

This is our very first time traveling to Thailand and it was an unforgettable escape. Thailand beaches were so lively, and Phang Nga Bay amazed us with its dramatic limestone cliffs and emerald waters, especially during a scenic boat tour. This is truly a must-visit for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts!

Our 10-day trip from Chiang Mai to Phuket was an amazing experience, thanks to IDC Travel. In Chiang Mai, we explored beautiful temples, visited an ethnic elephant sanctuary, and enjoyed the lively night markets. Then, off to Phuket, where we relaxed on stunning beaches, took a breathtaking Phi Phi Islands tour, and indulged in delicious Thai food. The itinerary was well organized, and our guide made every moment so special. Highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Thailand!

Aino Lehtinen

My friends and I decided to take this trip to Thailand, and it was so fascinating. We have never visited a floating market like Famnoen Saduak, so this was so exciting to experience the vibrant atmosphere. The Grand Palace left us in awe with its intricate architecture and rich history. Then, the cruise on the Chao Phraya River gave us a unique and romantic view of Bangkok. Big thanks to our guide for making the trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour for first-time travellers to Thailand!
