Discover Mai Chau and Ninh Binh in 3 Days

You will meet the guide and driver before heading to Mai Chau. On the way, you will visit Muong Village. Then, you will continue to Thung Khe Pass where you can admire magnificent panoramic views of the valley before arriving in Mai Chau. Mai Chau is a beautiful valley located 145 km from Hanoi. It is an excellent place with a harmonious landscape, green mountain ranges, rice terraces, and ethnic villages of White Thai people.

Discover Mai Chau by bike

Arrive in Mai Chau, check into your hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will ride a 5-kilomet bike (optional) or walk to the rice fields. You will learn about the culture and daily of the resident of Lac, Na Phon, and Poong Com villages. Then, you will explore the rural work on the rice fields and the artisan weaver and meet the locals. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then transfer to Mai Hich. You will cycle (optional) or walk along the trails and roads. You will admire the beautiful landscapes such as villages, rice fields, mountains, and streams that are in perfect harmony. After that, you will meet the friendly locals who always welcome you warmly into their homes to enjoy a cup of tea.

Return to Mai Chau for lunch and then head to Ninh Binh. Stop along the way to meet or take photos with the locals. Arrived in Ninh Binh in the late afternoon and settled down in the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to Tam Coc, known as “Ha Long Bay on Land”. After arriving at the pier, you will take a private sampan boat for a 90-minute cruise along the Ngo Dong River. You will pass through three caves and enjoy a stunning landscape interwoven with small communities, rice paddies, cemeteries, and temples.

Then, you will continue to visit Bich Dong Pagoda, a typical pagoda in the rural area of the Red River Delta, built in the 15th century. You will cross a stone bridge to Chua Ha, where there are over 100 steps to reach Chua Trung, a cave pagoda with unique clay statues. Then you will board Chua Thung. Not only do you have the opportunity to discover Buddhism, but you can also explore the stunning scenery of the countryside.

Spectacular scenery of Tam Coc, Ninh Binh

You will enjoy local cuisine in Tam Coc and then drive to Hoa Lu, an ancient capital of Vietnam for the 10th to 11th centuries. The citadel is surrounded by limestone mountains and rivers that protect it and create a magnificent landscape.

After arriving in Hoa Lu, you will visit temples dedicated to Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980 – 1009). The latter played an important role in winning national independence after ruling China for thousand years. These two temples were built in the 17th century, symbolizing deep respect for the contributions of the king.

At the end of the day, transfer from Ninh Binh to Hanoi. You will enjoy a journey through the Red River Delta and be able to take photos of rice paddies and peaceful countryside.

Note: When visiting pagodas and temples, wear flexible clothes to cover your knees and shoulders.
