This half-day city trip takes you through the history of Ho Chi Minh City. Explore the city’s center and significant attractions while learning about Ho Chi Minh’s rich historical heritage. Or travel to one of the most popular tourist locations in southern Vietnam, the Cu Chi Tunnels. Learn about the Vietnam War (American War) and how the North Vietnamese army exploited the massive network of tunnels from your guide.
Option 1: Reunification Palace – Notre Dame Cathedral – Central Post Office – War Remnants Museum
Get picked up and drive to the Reunification Palace (Independence Palace). Because a North Vietnamese army tank broke through its gate to take control of the whole south in 1975, this palace is known as the “Symbol of Vietnam’s Independence.” This tank has now become a valuable asset to the castle. Continue on to more intriguing historical sites such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. During Vietnam’s time as a French colony, both of them were constructed.
Visit the War Remnants Museum, which has a variety of displays on the Vietnam and Indochina Wars. You will learn more about Vietnam’s military history, which will make you ponder about war crimes and the Vietnamese who must endure awful torture throughout the war.
The journey will conclude with lunch at a local restaurant.
Option 2: Cu Chi Tunnels
Begin at Ho Chi Minh City and travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels. It will take you roughly 1.5 hours to go to this location. Through this introductory film, you may learn about the history of the Cu Chi and the hardships that Vietnamese people faced in the past. This summary also includes information regarding the tunnel system’s construction and the endurance of the Vietnamese.
When you get to Cu Chi Tunnels, start exploring the underground systems’ authorized parts, such as residential spaces (bedrooms and kitchens) and martial arts facilities (storage, fiend hospitals, weapon factories, and command center). Exploring the system by crawling through small tunnels is a fantastic experience.
Following your exploration, sip sour tea and eat cassava, the primary diet of former Vietnamese guerillas. The final activity is to try your hand at the real shooting gun. After this, you are taken back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Morning trip starts at 8:00 am. Afternoon trip starts at 1:00 pm. Lunch will be included for morning trips.
