At 8 am, our tour guide and driver will greet you at a hotel in the old town of Hanoi. Then, we will travel to Ha Giang passing through Son Nam district which belongs to Tuyen Quang province. You can admire the natural landscapes, green rice fields, palm hills, and villages along the way. Through Tuyen Quang Town, you will visit the village of Black Tay.

After breakfast, you will go to the Dong Van Plateau at an altitude of 1025 meters, which is home to the Tay and Hmong tribes. After stopping at Sky Gate in Quan Ba, you will arrive at Yen Ninh, a beautiful valley.
Take a walk at Pho Bang village, which is characterized by ancient land houses, some of which are built in colonial style. Three times a month, when a night falls, all the houses around the market are lit with lanterns.
After arriving in Dong Van, you will visit the Palace of Hmong Kinh Vuong Chi Sinh. It is a sumptuous palace reproducing the Chinese architecture of the Qing Dynasty. Overnight at the hotel in Dong Van. Exploring Dong Van Market is an unmissable experience on your journey. In the early morning, H’mong men and women, accompanied by horses loaded with goods, descend from the towering mountain ridges. They sell and purchase products there. The negotiations progressed smoothly as the market was empty and they gathered together, filling the atmosphere with their harmonious khènes voices. Alternatively, they gather around a pot of “Thang Co“, a favorite dish among mountaineers, drinking until the heavens and earth seem to merge.
Then, slowly, their wives mounted them on the backs of horses and happily followed them on their way home.

Have breakfast before heading to Meo Vac – an idyllic village. You will pass through regions bordering China, carved from stunning barren karst landscapes, which can also be found in the neighboring Yunnan region. You will discover the China – Vietnam border area – the Meo Vac Valley. A hiking trip is planned to cross villages of ethnic minorities with a simple and authentic life. You will continue the road to Bao Lac by crossing the Ma Pi Leng pass. In good weather, from there, the view can extend to the horizon.
You will also make a short stop to admire the Nho Que River. The view from a height of 1500 m gives it the appearance of a silk ribbon. Here, between sky and earth, the sounds of the khènes reverberate in the immensity of the wild nature.

In the morning, visit Bao Lac Market, where you can meet H’mong, Lo Lo, Tays, and San Chi.
This day will be used for hiking: we will pass through beautiful valleys where the Mong, Dao, and especially Black Lolo ethnic groups live. In the surroundings of Bao Lac, we will meet the inhabitants who are still dressed in their traditional costumes. An easy track will take us to the villages of the Black Lo Lo – a small particular ethnic group of the North of Tonkin. The Black Lolo only live in the district of Bao Lac, province of Cao Bang and they are very faithful to their traditions and the social cohesion of their village.

Breakfast at the hotel then, we will spend 4 hours (136 km) on the road to Ban Gioc, the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam. The latter is located in the border area between Vietnam and China. The waterfall is considered to be the best waterfall in Vietnam. Have a picnic on the waterfall.
Relaxation time in the afternoon.
Return to Cao Bang and free time.

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the villagers and leave for Ba Be by a small mountain road, via Na Banh and Na Phac. Make a few stops along the way to visit vestiges of the colonial era, including a castle built by the French. You will arrive in Ba Be in the early afternoon.
Then, settle in with the locals in the village of Pac Ngoi, populated by the Tay ethnic group. Enjoy free time to quietly discover the village and the landscapes around the lake. It is no coincidence that this place is called “Ha Long Bay on the mountain” with clouds beneath, the lake stretches between the green mountains, like so many islets that follow one another on the horizon. This preserved and wonderful land give tourists the feeling of being transported to paradise.

We will have breakfast at a local house, and then we will ride bicycles from Pac Ngoi village to Peng village for the day’s exploration. Peng village is the location of the Huama Cave, which was only discovered a few years ago. Its length exceeds 700 meters, with the highest point ranging from 40 to 50 meters. In this spacious decorated space, you can admire various magnificent stalactites and stalagmites.
Have a picnic at noon. Before returning to Pac Ngoi village, come visit and meet Tays. Dinner and the second night at a homestay by Ba Be Lake.

You will leave for the morning discovery of Ba Be Lake and the surrounding mountains covered with thick forest. You will cross the lake by boat to the Dau Dang waterfalls.
Free visit before taking the car back to Hanoi. On the way, there will be several stops to visit ethnic villages and take beautiful photos. Return to your hotel in Hanoi.
